Who am I?

Hi. I'm Gary. Originally a Midlands lad I moved south to study in 1978 and didn't look back. After a stint in London I moved to Sussex in 1997 and have now been resident here for over 25 years.

Before Bookkeeping

With a degree majoring in Accountancy and Economics my first full-time job was with Ladbrokes in London. However, this was fairly short-lived and I soon embarked on a 30 year career in IT writing banking, trading and risk management software. But all good things must come to an end and when that chapter of my life closed I began looking for a fresh challenge.

Having studied to pass the ICB bookkeeping examinations LBS came into being in May 2017. In the intervening years I have been employed, freelanced and taken placements in a wide variety of business and sectors. I would welcome bringing that experience to bear on providing you with valuable support for your own business.

We have worked with a variety of SME clients in a number of different sectors including Manufacturing, Retail, Catering, Motor Trade, Holiday Lets and Construction.

By and large we work with Xero as we believe its user friendly nature and connectivity make it ideal for small business. We also have years of experience of working with Sage.
